Star Trek Trailer Coming December 14th

Paramount announced that on December 14th, the IMAX 3D versions of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will have the first nine minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness. For those unable to see the movie that way they at least are offering a nifty consolation prize with the premiere of the first trailer for the movie.

According to TrekMovie, their sources have confirmed that the trailer will be set for December 14th release. The site also verified that it isn't a condensed version of the 9 minute preview but a standard trailer with materials from variety of time frames within the movie. Like any trailer with a set release date, it really is up to the movie theaters to determine what movies they want to air it with so while The Hobbit is the likely candidate, it isn't a guarantee. Nothing was revealed about when the trailer will be released online but chances are it will be around the same weekend.
