IDW June 2014 Star Trek Comics

Movie news remains dead but the comics continue. IDW Publishing has released their publishing plans for June 2014. Only two comics are coming, one for the ongoing and another that retells what is considered one of the best episodes in all of Star Trek, City on the Edge of Forever. Only this isn't telling it as it aired on TV but on the teleplay script written by Harlan Ellison. The result should be a familiar story with a lot of differences as what is in a script often changes by the time it reaches the air (much like with movies) as budgets, producers, directors, actors, time constraints, editors and a whole other host of factors can lead to changes from the original material. Something that Ellison, famous for being a bit of an egomaniac, has long been very displeased with. I am curious to see if his vision was superior to what eventually made it to the small screen. For the full details of IDW's other books including GI Joe, TMNT, Transformers, and more click here.
