Star Trek: Very Short Treks Animated Shorts Announced

This week brings the premiere of Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4. Turns out it will also brings another Trek animated series called "Star Trek: Very Short Treks". The five episode season is a celebration of Star Trek in animated form form as the Star Trek: The Animated Series turned 50 this year. Each episode will premiere on StarTrek.com and Star Trek's YouTube channel with the first this Friday for Star Trek Day.

As the trailer below indicates, these non-canon episodes cover all eras of Trek with the voices of Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker), Doug Jones (Saru), Armin Shimerman (Quark) Ethan Peck (Spock), Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura), Connor Trinneer (Trip Tucker), Bruce Horak (Hemmer), Noël Wells (Tendi), and George Takei (Sulu). Each short is from creative consultant Casper Kelly who created "Too Many Cooks" video for Adult Swim years ago. While the length of each isn't specified, I am guessing its in the five minute range for each.

Sept. 13 – “Holiday Party”
Sept. 20 – “Worst Contact”
Sept. 27 – “Holograms, All the Way Down”
Oct. 4 – “Walk, Don’t Run”
