SyFy Portal has posted a brief interview with Dawn Brown, set designer for Star Trek XI where she hints at design changes for the Enterprise, which may be good or bad depending on hardcore a Trekkie you are.
The full article is here.
Some highlights:
- Except some design changes for the inside of the ship, but "only the exterior of the Enterprise had to stay the same. I don't know if that came from J.J. or Paramount."
- "I can't discuss any details, all I can offer is that you lose all your expectations of what Star Trek should be," Brown said. "If you see this movie with an open mind and take it at face value, you may have a great time."
- Most of the Star Trek XI are CGI rather then practically built sets. So apparently lots of green screens for the shoot.
