Sound of Star Trek

SoundworksCollection.com has released their Blu-ray featurette "The Sound of Star Trek" for everyone's enjoyment. In the video Trek's Sound crew discuss JJ Abrams and the various sounds that were developed for the movie. Some were reused from the past Trek but others were created scratch such as the warp boom, weapons, door whoosh (toilet flush from Russian train) and more. Star Trek is virtually a lock for a nomination in the Best Sound Editing & Best Sound Mixing Oscars. There is still talk of Trek getting a Best Picture nod but that possibility seems unlikely.
