Tomorrow brings in the tie-in mini-series to May's Star Trek Into Darkness movie. The series just might drop hints on the motivations of the the film's big bad John Harrison. For long time fans the issue should be interesting as it is the 2.0 introduction of Captain Robert April and his first official entry into Trek canon for either Trek universes. April was introduced in the Star Trek Animated Series and later fleshed out in the novels Final Frontier and The Counter-Clock Incident as being in charge of the construction of the Enterprise and commanded its first five year mission before being promoting to Commodore and turning the reigns over to Christopher Pike. In the 2.0 universe Pike is the official first captain but April could fit as being on charge during its built on earth (as seen in first movie) and part of its initial shakedown missions before Pike took over. Could the first captain of the Enterprise be part of Harrison's motivation for revenge? A preview of the first few pages of the issue can be found here.
