IDW Publishing has released their publishing plans for January 2015. Two floppies and one trade are available. The Abrams-verse comic starts (or continues? not really sure) the five year mission as the Enterprise and The City on the Edge of Forever comic gets the trade treatment. I don't really recommend buying but it is a fascinating look at how a script gets revised into one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. The core ideas are there but whoever took the editor's pen to Harlen's script back in the 60's did an amazing job of losing unnecessary beats and characters while focusing on the core concepts and story. The improvement is so dramatic that I would argue that whoever did the re-write probably deserves co-writer credit as I frankly found the "pure" Ellison version to be often silly, meandering, and boring.
