Saturday Star Trek held its panel to
reveal upcoming TV plans for the franchise. As of now there will be more or less 3.5 series hitting the airwaves between now and the end of 2020 with one of them being a cartoon series called "Star Trek: Lower Decks." Showrunner Mike McMahan has revealed a few details about the series. It is set in 2380 (so after Star Trek: Nemesis) on the USS Cerritos with the focus on the characters of (left to right in image) of Ensign Tendi (voiced by No’l Wells), Ensign Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), Ensign Mariner (Tawny Newsome) and Ensign Boimler (Jack Quaid). The bridge crew is Lieutenant Shaxs (voiced by Fred Tatasciore), Captain Freeman (Dawnn Lewis), Commander Ransom (Jerry O'Donnell), and Dr. T'ana (Gillian Vigman). The series will premiere at some point in 2020.
