Star Trek: Picard Renewed for Season 2
While the show has not yet premiered, it seems CBS All Access really liked the first season as they have already renewed Star Trek: Picard for a second season. The first season is currently set to premiere January 23, 2020. The early renewal might mean that the next season will premiere around January 2021 instead of having to wait 18 months or so which seems to be the normal nowadays for most streaming services successive season premieres. No information was provided about the season, not surprising since first season isn't out. There was a mention of $20.4 million in California tax incentives to help keep costs down, but not clear if that amount is only for Picard or all the different Trek shows currently being made by CBS All Access.
