IDW Publishing has released their publishing plans for November 2015. Three floppies and one trade are coming that month. The Green Lantern crossover continues as does the five year mission with the return of the Mirror Universe. Star Trek 3 Set Images Introduce New Alien

New images and a video (yanked by Paramount under DMCA) by Screen Crush from the set of Star Trek Beyond show off a new alien as played by Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service). As Screen Crush's gifs (below) show, the alien and Chris Pine (Kirk) are on top of something with Pine wearing what almost seems like a outdoor away team type Starfleet uniform especially when you compare it to the more standard ship's uniform that Simon Pegg (Scotty) is wearing. Of a now this is literally the most we know about the movie that is set to come out next year. At least it something I guess. The full gallery of images can be found here.

Next up to promote the Star Trek To Boldly Go charity is Zoe Saldana and John Cho. I also believe this is the last week to donate for a chance to win a chance to visit the set in Vancouver, Canada.

RIP Yvonne Craig

The Star Trek universe lot one of its more famous guest stars as Yvonne Craig died Monday at the age of 78 due to cancer. The actress is best know to Star Trek as the green Orion slave girl in the 3rd season episode "Whom Gods Destroy" while others may recognize her as Batgirl in the 60's Batman TV series. She never could quite get away from those two now iconic roles despite her film resume and multiple other TV appearances. Condolences to her family.

Week Five To Bold Go Charity Video

A new video has been posted to support the Star Trek: To Boldly Go Omaze charity, this time with Chris Pine and Idris Elba as they argue over the captain's chair to kind of play up the good guy vs bad guy roles the two are playing in Star Trek 3. Star Wars Getting Steelbook Treatment

Star Wars is getting another Blu-ray release in time for Christmas by re-packaging the Blu-ray release from a few years ago into Steelbooks with character heads for covers. From what I can tell these are the same editions as those previous releases but missing most of their extra features except for audio commentary. The Complete Saga is also getting repackaged but not clear if its in a steelbook or not. The new editions will get released on October 13th minus the "Episode #" designation which is probably the strongest indication yet that Disney is planning to drop the numbering entirely with The Force Awakens.
