Two Star Trek Shows Gets Renewals, 2023 Release Dates

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has officially been renewed for ten episode season 3 while Star Trek: Lower Decks also gets 10 episode order for season 5. As for release date, Strange New Worlds season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ starting June 15 with Lower Decks aiming for "late summer" release. Star Trek: Prodigy's first half of season 2 will likely close out 2023.

These renewals should lock up the full 2024 release schedule for Star Trek with Discovery's final fifth season coming out early in the year, Prodigy's second half sometime in the spring, and then Strange New Worlds season 3 and Lower Deck's (possibly final) season 5. What remains unknown is 2025 and beyond plans as budget cuts continue across Hollywood companies.
