4th Clip, 3 TV Spots, 2 Featurettes, and 1 Poster for Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness is just days away from its Europe premiere and 10 days from the North America premiere. That means lots of videos. The latest is a new clip that introduces Carol Marcus, three new TV spots with new scenes, features and a poster. The 1st feature is mostly a sales pitch from JJ Abrams while the other one focuses on Scotty with Simon Pegg talking about the character and the movie. As for the poster, it features the enormous USS Vengeance as it attempts to destroy the Enterprise. For a spot-by-shot breakdown of each TV spot hit the links - Reputation, Vendetta and World.

Three More Character Posters for Into Darkness

Today Paramount has released three more (and maybe final) character posters for Star Trek Into Darkness. These three of Sulu, McCoy and Marcus join the previously released six images that depict each of the major Enterprise crew members and bad guy. All of them can be found below.

Message for Spock Video and More STID Posters

Joining the previous "Message from John Harrison" analyzing Kirk is a new one that focuses on Spock (below). In the video is a few new scenes from the movie including Spock having a not really very Vulcan reaction to something. In addition two new posters have been released for Chekov and Scotty. There are really two sets of character posters. The first is the colorful version (below) that is toned to each color and the other is a gold hued set.

Star Trek Into Darkness Clip #2 and New Posters

A new Star Trek Into Darkness clip has been released online. Like the previous one, this one expands on a segment from the trailers that show an Enterprise shuttle trying to escape an unknown enemy. In addition 7 new character posters have been released. Four are re-use of previous images while the other three feature Sulu, Chekov and Marcus characters. They can be found here.

Star Trek Into Darkness Enterprise Crashing, Character Posters

Paramount has released two new posters to promote Star Trek Into Darkness. The first poster is an image of the damaged Enterprise falling through Earth's atmosphere. The crashing piece is probably the first great poster I have seen so far for this film since the others have been the generic pose combinations which is what the second one is. Update: Added "Iron Man Into Darkness" mash-up since STID was clearly inspired by the former tweeted by _RyanTurek.

Star Trek Into Darkness US Premiere Details, Motion Poster and New Trailer Next Week

TrekMovie.com has posted new details on the marketing plans by Paramount to promote Star Trek Into Darkness in the United States. The plans include a May 14th US premiere in Hollywood, a new poster (not the one below), a new trailer with Oblivion and more. I am sure more is coming when consider Paramount has around a 10 person main cast, plus JJ Abrams, plus writers that can be used to promote the movie in various locations around the world at the same time.

As for the new trailer, it is expected to be released on April 19th with the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion. Since theaters have discretion on what trailers they attach to what movies, that can be hit and miss (my local theater never does for instance). No details on if it will contain new content but the estimated length is 2 minutes and 25 seconds. With the new trailer will be the final domestic poster for the movie. There is no indication on when that new trailer will debut online. Before all that, the main leads of the movie will be at the MTV Movie Awards presenting an award. Since the award show mostly exists to raise awareness of summer movies for the tween to 20s crowd that advertisers desire, something has to be in the works for the show, even if its just a new TV spot. Below is a timeline to keep straight the current known plans.

Last but not least is the new motion poster that is more or less a 9 window animated gif built from scenes in the most recent international trailer.

New Star Trek International Poster and Images

Today Paramount has released a new poster (below) for the international release of the movie and once again the focus is all on Benedict Cumberbatch's character. It is very similar to last year's poster, only instead of his back to the audience with a destroyed city in the background, now its him walking towards the audience. In addition, click here for 12 hi-res images from the movie. They are images that had first been published in various magazines over the last few weeks.

Star Trek Into Motion Poster

Below is a new "poster" from Paramount that uses the existing poster and adds a camera pull back and a little motion to it. Over all its decent but still baffles me on whats the point of them. Warning that it auto plays.

1st Star Trek Into Darkness Poster

The first Star Trek Into Darkness poster has been released. The poster depicts the film's big bad played by Benedict Cumberbatch as he stands on top of a pile of rubble and a whole in a building that is shaped in the Starfleet insignia. The image is echos the plot synopsis of "an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis." Its actually a pretty cool looking and unlike any Star Trek poster released before. A nine minute preview of the film will premiere with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey IMAX 3D on December 14th while the teaser trailer will be released on the same day with the other non-IMAX 3D versions of The Hobbit. The trailer will presumably be released on line too but no information on exactly when.

Star Trek XI Trailers, TV Spots and Posters

As a way to clear up the front page, putting all the posters, trailers and TV spots that I could find. To my knowledge there is 1 teaser, about 3 theatrical trailers and 15 TV spots but sadly not able to find all of them as users either pulled some of them down or Paramount had them yanked and just generally didn't make it easy to create a "collection" of all the spots so people could view them which strikes me as a wasted opportunity with the DVD and Blu-ray editions of the movie. Whoever works for Marketing at Paramount really should create a YouTube channel that makes it easy to find and distribute their advertisments in HD format. Star Trek IMAX Poster and New Photos

Via Slashfilm, below is the poster for Star Trek: The IMAX Experience which is really just an oversized print of the theatrical movie (no special scenes like Dark Knight). Personally I can't decide if the extra cost is worth it or not. As for the poster, it’s just an inverted version of the one sheet from a few weeks ago. In addition there are seven new stills that reveal absolutely nothing. Those can be found here.

Final Star Trek Poster for US

Below is the final US poster for Star Trek. I thought the next posters would look like various international posters but not even close. It is very abstract image of the Enterprise warping. Not really sure what to make of it to be honest.

First Look At International Star Trek Posters (Update)

Empire Magazine has premiered the new Star Trek poster for the United Kingdom. It is essentially a combination of the character shots of Kirk, Spock and Uhura with the Enterprise being built in dry-dock. It has more flair then some of the previous posters but over all doesn't really do a whole lot for me. According to the site, the Italian poster is not been offically verified.

Update: TrekMovie.com posted international posters. I think I like the UK "variant" edition more, it is close to the class Star Trek poster look.

Joining the Kirk and Spock character posters are two new posters of Uhura and Nero.

New Posters, Trailer Online Release Date

Via Trekmovie.com, below are two new character posters of Kirk and Spock for the upcoming Star Trek movie. These posters (wallpaper downloads here) are the first to be released for use in theatres as Paramount starts to build awareness for the film outside of its core fans.

In addition, the trailer is expected to make the official online debut next Monday (the 17th) at 10AM Pacific time (or 1PM Eastern). If you can't wait that long, the trailer is expected to premiere in theatres with Quantum of Solace starting this Friday.

Another four Panel Star Trek Poster

Over the weekend VegasCon was held to celebrate all things Star Trek and announce Star Trek Online. As part of that a new four panel poster was released with four additional characters from Star Trek displayed on it forming the delta symbol. They are Sulu (John Cho), Scotty (Simon Pegg), McCoy (Karl Urban), and Chekov (Anton Yelchin).

Below is the combined poster, merged using the four individual scans TrekMovie.com had. I used mspaint to combine the different sized scans so it’s not perfect but give you an idea of what the combined image looks like. Hopefully the official site will update soon with higher quality images.

New Star Trek Poster

As part of a preview of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly revealed the full poster for Star Trek that will be given out there. The one sheet is really 4 support posters that can be combined to form the Starfleet logo and will be given out to attendees at the convention.

New Star Trek XI Poster and Release Date

DarkHorizons.com has scored the new poster for Star Trek XI. The font and style is very similar to the Original Series and most importantly it reveals the movies release date - 12/25/08.
