Star Trek Beyond Enterprise Set Photos

TMZ has posted a bunch of pictures from the filming of Star Trek Beyond when they were in Vancouver. There is no context for the pics so pretty much impossible to gleam story bits from them. Some of the pics are from the outside of the Enterprise set while others are from Pitt River Quarries for likely an alien landscape. TMZ did say at the time the sets were dressed to indicate damage to the Enterprise but that isn't really a spoiler since the Enterprise always suffers damage during the course of a Star Trek film (both pre- and post- Abrams). Any case if curious head over to TMZ or to TrekMovie for the pics.

Star Trek Into Darkness Set Images and Art

Scott Chambliss, production designer for Star Trek Into Darkneses, has posted a 66 picture gallery for the movie. The images are a combination of pre-production designs, set builds and already released publicity images. Worth checking out to see the cool sets built for the movie and get an idea of how many were expanded using CGI. You can find the gallery here.

New Uniform for Star Trek Sequel

New pictures from the Star Trek sequel set made their way online reveal a few more costumes from next year's movies. The photos will uploaded under child actress' Anjini Azhar's IMDB profile who plays the daughter to Noel Clarke (Doctor Who) and Nanzeen Contractor. The photos were since pulled probably due to JJ Abrams' cone of silence. Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin's modeling of the new uniforms, complete with hat, should provide cos players with something new to create for Trek conventions. Other than being a curiosity I am not seeing anything that tells me squat about the story or the characters. Below are a few photos, the rest can be found here.

Alice Eve on Trek Set Pic

A new picture has surfaced on the Zachary Quinto Community site that shows Alice Eve, unknown person and Quinto posing while on a Star Trek set. When and where the photo was taken is unknown. The main point of interest is the outfit suggests a little bit more info on the character she is playing. The main point of interest is the costumes seem to match the same dark gray and black uniforms that John Cho (Sulu) and Zoe Saldana (Uhura) wore for the film. The new darker scheme also matches outfits that Quinto and Chris Pine (Kirk) have worn. So this indicates a member of Starfleet (no likely not Dr. Carol Marcus). The outfit also suggests not a member of the medical corps (so bye Christine Chapel). Since she is wearing the costume but no alien makeup unlike Quinto, she is probably a human character. This fits my theory of Yeoman Janice Rand but there are still a host of contenders including Lt. Maria Givers who fell in love with Khan and helped in escape in The Original Series episode. As usual time will tell.

Major Star Trek Spoilers Confirmed

AICN is reporting that they have rumors of three major plot points for the Star Trek sequel that is currently filming. One was leaked yesterday, another was assumed but never officially verified and the last doesn't come as a surprise because of interviews with the writers over the last few years. TrekMovie later is saying these rumors have been confirmed through their sources. Consider this your SPOILER WARNING!

More Volcano Suit Set Pics

MSN UK and Digital Spy have posted more pictures of Zachary Quinto filming a scene in the Star Trek sequel. The other day a single image was posted but now more are available. He images show Quinto in his "Volcano Suit" (because of rumor the scene involves a volcano) but not a whole lot else. I guess technically its spoilerish but really a dude in costume in front of green screen could literally become anything. Hit the links above or click here to view all of them.

New Star Trek Set Photo

A new Star Trek set photo has popped up online. It shows Zachary Quinto hanging in some red space suit that seems like a cross between Iron Man and the space suit Kirk wore in the TOS episode The Tholian Web. The description with the photo says its a "Volcano Suit". Speculate away as no clue what this means as far as the movie goes.
Zachary Quinto as Spok filming an action scene for the Untitled Star Trek 2 Sequel. After first rehearsing the scene with a Spok Stunt Double Actor Zachary Quinto was then rigged to a wire in front of a large green screen and lifted to a height of 10 stories high then dropped at a high rate of speed as if he was falling. In the scene Spok is wearing a "Volcano Suit" and carrying an unknown piece of equipment with the Starfleet Emblem. A Volcano is somehow involved in this scene. The crew had a real fire burning off camera to catch the fire reflections on Spok's "Volcano Suit".

Star Trek Wall of Containers

It seems JJ Abrams has gotton tired of the leaked images from the Southern California set of Star Trek 2 so he has had a wall of 30 shipping containers put up to block the paparazzi from taking any photos. Except for the leak of a fight scene, most of the "leaks" have been of the cast wearing jackets to cover their costumes that may or may not reveal adjustments have been made since the first movie like Uhura losing the skirt. Not exactly story breaking news. JJ Abrams loves to keep his stories secret until the official release date so really this next move doesn't come as that much of a surprise. (via Egotastic)

Star Trek 2 Spock Whupping Set Video

J.J. Abrams was upset when just a few set pictures leaked, I wonder how he will feel about a video posted on SplashNews that provides more details of the same Spock vs. bad guy fight. It shows Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch doing a few takes of a fight between the two characters. Well really the segment being shot just shows Spock getting a beat down. As the voice points out, Vulcans have superior strength to humans (reiterated in the Spock vs. Kirk fight in the first movie) so for the big bad to hold his own and then some indicates he is either a genetically enhanced human (aka a Khan-like character) or an alien in human disguise.

Star Trek Sequel Set Photos

Multiple online websites (MTV, Yahoo, PopSugar, & TooFab) have posted images (below) taken by On Location News of filming on the set of the Star Trek sequel. The images show Benedict Cumberbatch (main villain), Zachary Quinto (Spock), and Zoe Saldana (Uhura) on "a Space Barge set". The action shows Spock's Vulcan nerve pinch failing to subdue the big bad forcing a potential save from Uhura. TrekMovie spotted in the last pic an IMAX camera rig. This strongly indicates that the movie will have at least some real IMAX scenes (vs. post converted) when it comes out next year in 3D and IMAX.

The photos (below) reveal little but allow for a whole lot of fun speculation. Spock is in his blue Starfleet uniform, pretty sure Uhura is in her red Starfleet skirt (a nod to The Original Series), and Cumberbatch is wearing a black shirt that has a Starfleet logo on it or at least a faded version that indicates possibly the location of where the patch use to be before it was removed or ripped off. The villain also seems to be a human or an alien that was modified to look human (a spy?). The big bad also has the strength to take on a Vulcan and shrug off the nerve pinch, something a normal human would not be able to do. Shades of Khan? Or just highly trained?

Orci Tweets Pics from Star Trek (2009) Set

Yesterday TrekMovie successfully campaigned to get Bob Orci's twitter account up to 10000 followers and as promised Orci tweeted pics from the set of Star Trek...the first movie. The pics show the cast and crew getting together for a photo, Orci on engineering set and Leonard Nimoy at work. To view the set with Orci's comments, click here. Considering JJ Abrams' love of secrets, I doubt Orci could post a pic of costume shoe from the currently filming sequel without getting in trouble.

Star Trek Official Site Updates

The official site for the upcoming movie, StarTrekMovie.com, has added few new features that might be worth checking out. The site now has a dossier section on the characters, bridge panoramas, and gallery of re-designed Enterprise models.

The Dossiers section currently has info on Kirk, Pike, McCoy, Uhura and the USS Kelvin. It includes downloadable wallpaper and little factoids about each character. The bridge panoramas is s 360 degree view of the Enterprise bridge in both normal and red alert mode and provides a look at the consoles which seems to be inspired by Apple in color tone with a few physical switches as a nod to The Original Series but a huge focus on touch panels (much like The Next Generation used).

Last is the Enterprise Model Gallery, that uses the Enterprise model as the base only artists add their own twist to it, usually in the form of a new color scheme or alterations to the shape. Not really sure the point of this section is except as a way for people to see goofy uses of the Enterprise (such as UPS Delivery).

Close-Up Star Trek XI Set Pics

RFJason.com has pics from the Star Trek XI that appears to be the Enterprise construction set. The amazing thing is these are the first pics that show a close-up view of some of the sets that give an idea of the design for the movie. Before, the set pics where often blurry long distance shots with little detail.

From what I can tell, it looks like the "realistic" design atheistic from Star Trek: Enterprise is continuing here with a darker look, lots of switches and buttons (a carryover from the Original Series), and some of the pipes and inner workings being exposed. Not sure what to make of the grey uniform, it looks like a two piece, almost Next Generation in design. For some reason I can't help but think it’s something that Spock would wear but that’s just a leap on my part.

Update: I have recieved a takedown notice from a group claiming to be representing Paramount Pictures. Using Defamer's experience as a go by, I do believe the use of the pictures does not represent a violation of the DMCA and is covered by fair use in the act of reporting news and information. I replied back asking for more information but realistically the law is poorly written and to use it to your advantage requires simply the means and the will. Being right has very little do with it. I don't have the means. What actions I will take will be based on their reply.

This isn't a knock on sites that did take down the pics. They too probably don't have the means to fight. Also some of them (such as AICN) isn't willing to risk the access they now enjoy. I have no access so nothing lost.

Quinto as Spock Pics

The Star Trek set leaks keep coming. Below are the first look of Zachary Quinto in full Spock mode with the ears and the outfit from JFX Online. I have my doubts about some of the casting choices made for Star Trek XI but this isn't one of them.

IESB.net also scored some video of the set that shows a scene being filmed involving Spock appearing before the Vulcan Council (the chapel pic below) for unknown reasons. The casting call that had gone out last week was in part to find council members to fill out the scene.

The full gallery can be found here and mostly include a discussion between Quinto, Abrams and others.

The set video can be found here.

Now if only sites would learn how to do watermarks right. The idea of a watermark is basically free advertisement of a site's pics when they show up else (since sites often claim news as their own discovery) but I really wish they wouldn't place it in such a way as it obscures the useful information in the image.

Star Trek Pics and Jennifer Morrison Cast?

IESB.net is reporting that they have pics taken at the secret location of the Star Trek XI shoot. Well its the outside of a building. Supposedly it gives a hint on the costumes but all I see is long coats, crew and a pretty blond that looks like Jennifer Morrison. Not a 100% on that and neither is IESB.net but the physical characteristics match and she is currently a blond on House (for whatever reason cause looks much much better as a brunette). If true, she can't be just an extra but has an actual role in the film. Time will tell.

The full gallery can be found here.
